Kristen Horler
FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Kristen, based in Sarasota, Florida, created Baby Boot Camp in 2001, while living in San Francisco, California.

After the birth of her daughter, Kristen looked extensively into postpartum fitness options. When she was unable to find a challenging workout that did not require hiring a personal trainer and a babysitter, she combined her expertise as a personal trainer and Pilates instructor to develop Baby Boot Camp.

Kristen’s personal drive to balance her passion for fitness with her desire to spend time with her baby resulted in an international success!

In Fall 2005, she and her family relocated the company to Sarasota, Florida, and she continues to grow and develop the overall Baby Boot Camp program and franchise support system.

Kristen is a contributing writer for a number of national fitness and parenting magazines, with over 12 years of experience as a fitness professional. She is owns Karna Fitness Sarasota and teaches for Baby Boot Camp Sarasota franchise owner Paula Casane following Baby Boot Camp’s merger with StrollerFit in 2010.

Kristen is mom to two children. She is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and she earned her B.A. degree in Physical Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Mark Horler
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Mark, based in Sarasota, Florida has overseen Baby Boot Camp's internal operations since 2001.  He works closely with our technology partners and internal team members to ensure Baby Boot Camp's systems and processes meet the needs of our franchise owners and their clients.

Mark worked in high tech for 20 years, working with major corporations such as Oracle, Microsoft, Cisco Systems and HP, either directly or while leading a technology consulting practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.  

In addition to working with Baby Boot Camp, Mark is Chief Operating Officer of YellowMan Media LLC, a Sarasota based media company, and offers consulting to select clients through his consulting practice, the Horler Consulting Group.

Mark is married to CEO Kristen Horler and is father to their two children. He earned a B.A. (Honors) in Finance and Systems Design from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. Mark qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in the UK prior to moving to San Francisco in 1991.  He is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and is working towards his Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation.

Monica Julien
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Monica, based in Sarasota, Florida, is responsible for all aspects of Baby Boot Camp’s financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting and analysis. She also manages the Company’s payment processing service provided to franchise owners. Monica started as the company’s bookkeeper in January 2007 and was promoted after only six months and is now an integral member of our management team.

From February 1997 through September 2001 she worked in a variety of finance, legal and technical roles for Regions Bank, based in Miami, Florida, culminating in her position as a Network Analyst where she obtained her MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certification during this period. Monica left the workforce in September 2001 to raise her family.

Monica is mom to two young children. She has a double B.S. degree in Psychology & Sociology from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Jill Wheaton
DIRECTOR OF FRANCHISE SALES

Jill Wheaton, based in Plumas Lake, California, joined the Baby Boot Camp Franchise Sales team in July 2010 as a Sales Associate.  She was a Baby Boot Camp franchise owner August 2007-September 2011 and Karna Fitness owner from October 2010 to present.  

Jill is an AFAA certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer. She was awarded 2009 Baby Boot Camp Franchise Owner of the Year.

Jill graduated from Menlo College with a BA in Humanities and became a full time police officer before starting her family and finding her passion in the fitness industry. Jill enjoys competitive running and has completed many 5k, 10k, half and full marathons.

Tiffany Connors
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

Tiffany, based in St. Petersburg, Florida, has more than 10 years of journalism experience including serving as assistant editor and art director for Women’s Running magazine (formerly Her Sports & Fitness magazine). In addition to her work at Baby Boot Camp and Karna Fitness, Tiffany writes a weekly TV column, Drama Mama, for the New York Post.

Tiffany has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Bowling Green State University and is mom to Gwendolyn.  

Mindy Wahl
SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

Mindy, based in Cleveland, Ohio has over ten years of experience in business and information technology consulting and development. Most recently she has focused on operating her successful Baby Boot Camp franchise and free-lancing as a social media consultant to both Baby Boot Camp and other local businesses. Other experience includes Assistant Director at Ernst & Young LLP in the areas of quality control and audit review as well as a Systems Analyst at Deloitte Consulting. Mindy is excited to bring her experience working with social media and marketing to the Baby Boot Camp family.

Mindy is also the mother of three young boys and can frequently be seen in class instructing with her triple stroller. She has owned her franchise since 2005 and is an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. She has a B.S degree in Management Information Systems and B.A. Degree in Spanish from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Carol Weil
DIRECTOR OF TRAINING & TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Carol, based in Long Beach, California, has provided training and technical support to Baby Boot Camp franchisees and licensees since January 2003 when she re-entered the workplace following raising her family. Carol has taken a significant number of adult education courses in web design and development over the last ten years and has become familiar with many of the tools used by Baby Boot Camp’s outsourced web development agency.  

Carol provides technical support and training on the use of SLIMS, Baby Boot Camp’s proprietary eBusiness platform, as well as the company’s various intranets, forums and other business systems. Carol has developed a wealth of knowledge that she passes onto new owners from her more than 8 years experience of directly supporting Baby Boot Camp Franchise Owners.

Drew Lani Grissell
FRANCHISEE SUPPORT COORDINATOR

Drew Lani, based in Sarasota, Florida, joined Baby Boot Camp’s Team in early 2011. As Baby Boot Camp Franchisee Support Coordinator at the Corporate Office, Drew’s goal is to provide the highest level of service to Baby Boot Camp Franchise Owners and their clients.

Prior to joining Baby Boot Camp, Drew was a full time student at the University of Oregon earning her B.S. in Sociology, as well as an A.A.S in Human Services and Criminal Justice. While her previous professional training has focused on social services, she has also worked with credit card processing services in Colorado and Oregon. This has provided her with the essential training to process payments for Baby Boot Camp Franchise Owners and their clients in a timely and professional manner. In her spare time, Drew enjoys competing in 5K, 10K, and half marathon races.

Katelyn Monroe
PRODUCT SPECIALIST

Katelyn, based in Sarasota, Florida, joined the Baby Boot Camp team in 2010. She manages all incoming and outgoing store inventory and provides product support, as well as conducting product review sampling.

Katelyn is in her senior year at USF, completing her B.A. in Marketing. She also hopes to pursue a career in natural healing. In her spare time, Katelyn organizes a 20s and 30s Meetup group.

Christie  Bruner
NATIONAL DIRECTOR OF FITNESS PROGRAMMING

Christie, based in St. Petersburg, Florida, has more than 10 years of experience with sports and fitness for children and adults. She was an NCAA All-American swimmer in college and continues to coach and teach swimming at all levels.

Prior to joining the Baby Boot Camp family, Christie was the Program Director at The Little Gym where she continually updated curriculum as it related to early motor skill development. Christie has also participated as a Special Olympics coach and Workout Wednesdays, a school-based family fitness initiative she organized.

As mom to two young girls, Christie is thrilled to combine her passion for motivating and educating others with her background in the fitness industry.

Christie has owned and operated her franchise since 2006 and offers classes at several locations throughout St. Petersburg. She earned her B.S. in Exercise Science with a minor in Business from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., and she is an AFAA certified personal trainer.

Courtney Williams
LEADERSHIP COACH

Courtney, based in Naples, Florida, provides mentoring and coaching for Baby Boot Camp franchise owners through regularly scheduled conference calls. Courtney currently operates a successful Baby Boot Camp Franchise and is building her Karna Fitness franchise which she continues to grow and develop in her community.

Courtney has worked in the fitness industry since 2007 and has over 15 years of dance experience. She is an AFFA Certified Personal Trainer, AFAA Yoga and Prenatal Fitness Instructor, and holds a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from FloridaGulfCoastUniversity.

Due to the exceptional growth of her business, Courtney was awarded the 2008 Franchise Owner of the Year Award. As the mother of three young children, Courtney is excited to continue to provide the opportunity for active mothers to connect and build lasting friendships.

Alison Wortman
LEADERSHIP COACH

Alison, based in San Jose, California joined the Baby Boot Camp Family as a Franchise Owner in October 2008 and added a Karna Fitness franchise to her portfolio in August 2010.  Alison was awarded 2010 Baby Boot Camp Franchise Owner of the Year.

Alison enjoys providing mentoring and coaching for new and challenged franchise owners through conference calls.

Alison is an ACE-certified Personal Trainer. Her passion for fitness and wellness however, is not something new. As a former Aquatic Group Fitness Instructor, Swim Coach for both children and adults and a Synchronized Swimming Coach, she has been invested in the Fitness Industry for over 19 years. Prior to the birth of her first daughter and purchasing her Baby Boot Camp franchise, Alison put her Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) to use in the Advertising Industry.

Alison is the mother of two girls and an avid runner having completed numerous 5k (with and without her double stroller!), 10k and 1/2 Marathon Runs as well as having completed her “one and only” full marathon at the National Capital Marathon in May 2006, prior to relocating to California from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Cassidy Carow
LEADERSHIP COACH

 A sports and fitness enthusiast, Cassidy Carow is passionate about seeing women reach their fitness goals and improve their overall well-being.

Cassidy is an AFAA-certified group fitness instructor and has taught fitness classes for over seven years.  She has been owner/instructor at Baby Boot Camp & Karna Fitness Panama City, FL for over five years.

Cassidy was awarded the 2011 Baby Boot Camp Franchise Owner of the Year. 

Victoria Patel
LEADERSHIP COACH

Over the past 12 years Victoria Patel has been dedicated to promoting health and fitness in the Dallas Area creating a strong community of moms and families.  Victoria holds a degree in Health and Fitness, is an AFAA certified personal trainer/group exercise instructor and is certified in prenatal and postpartum fitness.  

Victoria has owned her franchise since 2004 and has received multiple awards for outstanding performance.  She offers Baby Boot Camp and Karna Fitness classes in her territory. She resides in Plano, TX with her husband and 3 children. 

Victoria was the recipient of the inaugural Women Achieving Success award in 2011.
